Yes, I am alive.
I apologize if the editing isn't great on this post, I just cannot stand to stare into a Word Document anymore.
I have spent the past week and a half writing four papers, two 2,500 word papers, one 1,500 word paper, and now I'm working on a 2,000 word one. I am simply running out of brain power. It's ten pm, a very early bedtime for me, and I am just crashing.
This is also due to the fact that I have a very nasty cold. I got it on Thursday and it has made writing huge final essays that much harder. I have skyped my mom twice now, ending up crying a bit from exhaustion, and then going back to work on papers. Tonight, I am 600 words in to my Contemporary Art paper, and I am just crashing, so I am going to watch an episode of a nice cheesy tv show about teenage vampires, The Vampire Diaries, my latest extremely guilty pleasure (I hate buying into the hype) and go to sleep.
I haven't been able to sleep in at all lately because of my stuffiness and coughing, so I am beat by the end of the day.
Sorry I'm complaining so much. I just know you guys want to know what's going on with my life, and this is pretty much it right now. I feel so sick and tired I can't process much else.
BUT I am going to New Zealand this Thursday, how AWESOME is that????!?!?! i can't wait. By then, I have to be over this cold. Anna arrives in Auckland (that's where our tour starts) Friday morning, so I will have my plane flights and a night of sleep extra to get over this cold, hopefully.
I will take tons of pictures, as usual, and put them up here! I should get them up pretty quickly, because I won't have any work to do after this week! Ohhhh my God, I cannot wait for that. No work. Seems like a far-off dream.
Last week there were some fun events, though. My life hasn't been totally full of sickness and lying in bed and work.
Tuesday, we had a water bagging fight, which is like water balloons, of course, just with freezer bags, because they hurt less when they hit you. It was AWESOME! I got soaked. And tons of people played. That was a Queens event. Man, thinking about that, I should really wash those sweatpants I was wearing.
Then Wednesday night, we had a Christmas dinner! That was a little strange, because I was like, "but what about Thanksgiving??" but they ignore that lovely holiday dedicated to overeating. I don't know how they do it here, no Halloween, no Thanksgiving!??! That would be awful. I need my long string of fall holidays.
So we had a Kris Kringle, which is Secret Santa, but with Queeners, and I got this guy I kind of sort of know, so I just got him a big bag of candy (a common Kris Kringle gift, I later found out) And I got this adorable stuffed Koala with a huge Christmas bow on it. I named him Bartholemew, Barty for short. He's classy like that.
Anyway, time to sleep for twelve hours, I hope. Lots of love! I am so glad I'm going home soon. Being sick makes me really miss home. Though I know I will miss Australia like crazy. Anyway.
XOXO!!!
I love you SO much! I know exactly how you feel about pretty much everything - it's a little scary. I'm sending you wonderful, pretty, happy thoughts and I can't wait to see you this Christmas!
