If you didn't see my earlier posts, please read those first, in order. Or this post might not make sense. Sorry there's so much to catch up on! That's what happens when you lose internet your first 3 days in a foreign country.
Well, homies, I am having a pretty good time. My days are jam-packed with things to do around the city, but I guess that's a good thing to keep me distracted. It's almost midnight here, and I have to get up at 7:20 i think, so I am going to go to bed reeeally soon.
Tonight I went to a bowling bar. Well, I think that's what it's called. It's a bowling alley with a bar in it. So me and three friends got a small pitcher of Australian beer and bowled a game with a couple of guys from the program. It was fun. By about ten o clock, though, I was yawning. I feel like maybe I should have gone home then. But i didn't have anyone to go home with, and we had to take the train home, so I just waited for Verna, a girl from Finland with pretty much no accent at all, who was also sort of ready to hit the sack. But we did want to go to a pub where everyone was going, to see what it was like, so we walked there. That was kind of pointless, because we only stayed for a few minutes. I was tired and I wasn't drinking and I have kind of lost my energy for making new friends, because I have had to meet so many people these past couple days, so that was pretty boring. But Verna and I walked back with Avery, the girl I had the day from hell with, and Casey, a really nice American girl. We had also bowled with them earlier. They don't have a very good sense of direction, so when we were trying to find our way through campus to our residence college, they were going all over the place. Kind of annoying at 11:30 at night, but we got back eventually.
My shoulders feel really, really sore today, so hopefully I will sleep well and they will go back to normal. I am so glad I have internet, and I am so glad I got to email my parents and go on facebook. It's really such a relief. Time for sleep!
